Review: Home-Ec 101 Skills for Everyday Living by Heather Solos

.

This is a review post written by me on behalf of Home-Ec 101: Skills for Everyday Living - Cook it, Clean it, Fix it, Wash it by Heather Solos. All opinions are 100% mine.

Did you sleep through Home-Ec as a kid? Most of us did. Who thought we'd need to know silly things like cooking and repairing things around the house. Well, Heather Solos knew. She wrote this new book that features 101 skills for everyday living.

I was offered a chance to review this book but was only sent a single chapter to read and review. The chapter I was sent was all about meal planning and I found it quite informative. The chapter was written in an easy to follow way that didn't leave me confused or overwhelmed. I liked that the author explains misconceptions about why you don't need a family to consider planning and how even planning simple dishes can help to ease those busy nights without breaking the bank.
If you can read—and you are right now, so stop shaking your head—you can handle making spaghetti with jarred sauce.

I wish I had a chance to read the rest of the book prior to writing a review, but if it's written in a similar fashion to this chapter I can see it being a positive addition to any book shelf.

You can currently purchase this book in both digital and paper formats from Amazon or BN.

Disclaimer: I was sent a digital copy of Chapter 20, Meal Planning is Not Just For Control Freaks, through the One2One Network. All opinions are 100% mine.
