If you're like me, you worry about your furry friend's diet. There are tons of dog foods on the market and if you ask ten people for suggestions, you'll find ten different answers. Recently, a popular brand had a recall over the scare of salmanella.
Have you ever considered making your own dog food? A Google search has reveiled lots of dog friendly websites for cooking your own food but even then it's hard to narrow down the choices.
A new website is available offering Homemade dog food recipes. The website goes into detail about the selection of each ingredient. Interestingly, many of the choices come down to the reasoning that dogs are carnivores by nature and their body is designed to eat certain foods. If you are worried about feeding your dog raw meat, they also offer a Easy cooked dog food recipe.
I'm not really sure how I feel about the recipes. While the website gives tons of reasoning behind everything, I don't think I will be taking my dog off a store purchased dog food. There's just too much risk with the unknown. Perhaps if I speak with my vetrinarian, I will consider something like this in the future. What are your thoughts about homemade dog food? Please feel free to share with other readers.
