Free Digital Copy of Wreck-It Ralph

Disney has created a new digital library for their movies. To help promote Disney Movies Anywhere, you can currently get a free copy of Wreck-It Ralph. Disney Movies Anywhere will allow you to watch your favorite Disney, Pixar, and Marvel films on any compatible device.

If you purchase a physical copy (DVD or BluRay) of most new releases movie, there should be a code which can be redeemed for the digital copy. This will allow you to take your favorite Disney films anywhere.

Possible Free Custom Disney Decal

Disney wants to help you get in the mood to plan your next vacation. Head over to Build Your Disney Side and design your own decal. If you're willing to "opt" for promotional emails, you can get premium accessories for your stick figures. Downloading the image is free, but if you "opt" for promotional snail mail, you'll also get a free decal with your characters.

I call this a possible free item because you need to accept the spam mail in order to get the item. However, it is Disney so can we really call it spam? Also, the website is extremely slow so you might get frustrated and give up.

Here's my icon to show you an example:

Free Mickey Ears Hat from The Disney Store

On Wednesday, March 28, 2012, Disney Stores across the nation will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Disney Store. To celebrate, each location will be giving out 250 Mickey ears hats. The hats are first come, first serve and require no additional purchase.

Disney Stores will also be offering a 25% discount on everything in the store for the event.  I'm not sure if this means they will suspend regular sales and offer this discount instead or if the 25% will come off items that are already on sale.

25 Free Points on Disney Movie Rewards

Head over to Disney Movie Rewards and enter the code BARSOOM to get 25 free points. I'm not sure when this code is good until but it is related to the upcoming John Carter release.

Movie Review: Beauty and the Beast 3D

It's a tale as old as time. Sorry, I couldn't help myself but Beauty and the Beast is coming back to theaters for a limited 3D engagement.

Since Beauty and the Beast itself is an old film, I'm not going to go into details about the story line or characters. I am only going to be speaking about the updates.  The 3D was impressive at parts and seeing Beauty and the Beast really brought back some childhood memories.

My favorite scene was Be Our Guest where the 3D really showed its magic as the dishes danced. They also did a good job with making the sound 3D. When characters were closer to the audience their voices slightly changed. This was most evident during Gaston when they were dancing around the lodge.

I was really hoping to see To Be Human Again which was a song added to the broadway musical and later added to a special release of the film but unfortunately they did not add it to this release. The 3D special release is the original film made 3D but no additional changes. For many parts, it appeared they just took the film's layers and pulled them slightly apart.

My personal opinion is that this would be a fun movie to see in theaters, but go to a matinee or use a promotional ticket. I don't think paying full 3D prices are worth it to see a film that you can rent or own. I'd rather pay for a new movie instead of seeing the same film again.

An added bonus to seeing the film in the theater is a new short staring the characters of Tangled. I never actually saw Tangled, but Tangled Ever After was really funny.

Beauty and the Beast will be released nation wide on January 13, 2012. Check your local theater's Facebook page before you go because there are a few coupons available for the concession stands.
