Last year, our national parks offered a few dates where visitors could enter the parks free of charge and enjoy nature. Once again, they will be opening their doors for free on select dates throughout 2011. There are a few dates currently listed but they might add more as the year continues.
- January 15-17 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday weekend)
- April 16-24 (National Park Week)
- June 21 (First day of summer)
- September 24 (Public Lands Day)
- November 11-13 (Veterans Day weekend)
Please note that this is for national parks and not state parks. If you are not sure about your local area, check the list before you arrive.
