We've all seen those "as seen on tv" door insulators in stores, but for $15 most people just walk past them. Today I found a cheaper alternative on Lifehacker and wanted to share it with all of you.
If you own your home you'll probably want to add weatherstripping as a permanent solution, but if you're renting or low on funds you can repurpose a 6ft length of pipe insulation available for $1-1.50 at any big box home improvement store into two door draft guards.Since the pipe insulation is long, it can easily be cut into two door blockers. This solution will help keep the heat in during the winter without having to place one of those stuffed door blocks every time you close the door. By keeping the heat in, you will also save on your utility bills because your heater will be more efficient.
