Once upon a time, children of all ages fell in love with the story of Snow White. Snow White and the Huntsman is not that story. This film shows a much darker side of the classic story. With a marketing campaign similar to many summer blockbusters, and a cast of huge names, this film is being hyped up more than it should. I know a lot of reader are wondering how this film compares to other Snow White films but since I didn't see Mirror, Mirror, I can't compare the two.
When the film began I had high expectations. The opening scenes were beautifully done and the girl playing a young Snow White was terrific at displaying the right emotions. The sets and costumes were great and I thought the little girl that played the young Snow White was a wonderful actress.
At just over two hours, I felt the film was too long. I've seen films close.to three hours which left me wanting more. Sadly, Snow White had me continuing to check my watch for the last half hour of the film. My personal opinion of this film is that this film was a major let down. This however could be because I had extremely high expectations going in. If you go in with an open mind, you might actually enjoy the film and the new twist on an old story.

i thought the movie was just okay. definitely worth seeing at least once because of the scenery but nothing to rush to the theaters to experience. although in some scenes she was a bit overly dramatic, i thought Charlize Theron did well. Chris Hemsworth can do no wrong. =) Im glad they kept Kristen Steward's usually troubled character to a minimum.
