I was sent a free copy of Edens Edge by Edens Edge to listen and review. All opinions are 100% mine.
As you know from past reviews I am a fan of country music, so I was excited when I received this album in the mail to review. I had never heard of Edens Edge before the album arrived, but the promotional material that came with it quickly cleared that up. This is Edens Edge debut album. I listened to all ten tracks and I can honestly say they will be around for a bit. If I had to compare Edens Edge to an artist you might recognize, I'd say they are similiar to Lady Antebellum and Sugarland.
My favorite song was "Who Am I Drinking Tonight" which was an upbeat song about a night at the bar. The song refers to how a girl can determine the type of guy someone is by the drink they order.
A girl can tell a lot about a boy from one shot.Do you like a Kenny Tequilla or an Alan Jackson Hurricane? It has an upbeat and funny lyrics.
"Swing Door" is another great song. It's about a girl that is sick of the boy coming and going. The lyrics talk about how she's sick of being used. She wants more from a guy.
Your train don't stop here anymore. I ain't your quick stop, walk-up, open 24. You can't just drop in, drop out. Treat me like your candy store.
The songs aren't all about a girl dating, these were just my favorite two tracks from the album. They also have two tracks that are slightly preachy, "Christ Alone" and "Amen." I'm not a fan of preachy music, but their harmonies were excellent and show they have talent.
As I mentioned above, they have a similar sound to other popular groups. It just adds another set of great country songs that can be appreciated by music lovers of all types.
Edens Edge self-titled debut album is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2012. They will be touring this summer as an opening act for Rascal Flatts.
