Following a growing trend of big names doing voice acting, Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, and more have lent their voices to the new computer generated cartoon, Hotel Transylvania. This is not the first monster themed cartoon this season, but it is adding to the growing list. While the film is about monsters, the story is of a father learning to let his daughter grow up and be independent.
The humor in this film was not lacking and I found myself laughing a lot at the monsters as they over-exaggerated their stereotypes. The scenes where we saw the humans also added to this great humor throughout the film. My favorite character in the film was the wolf. Watching him unsuccessfully try to control his pack of children kept me laughing.
My personal opinion of this film is that anyone that enjoys the cartoon genre will love this film. I think that kids of all ages and kids at heart will enjoy the story and humor in the film. Like most 3D films, I didn't find the effects to be worth the extra fee, however I don't think this film is being released in the 2D format. That being said, the scenery and characters were well designed and enjoyable to watch.
Hotel Transylvania will be released nation wide on September 28, 2012. Fandango is running a promotion for $5 off when you buy four tickets to see Hotel Transylvania.
