I have received emails today from different companies that have reported their email lists being hacked. Each company claims that your personal information wasn't reached and that only email lists got out. I did a search, and found a list of effected companies. As I mentioned, I received multiple emails, but here is the basic content of each one.
As a result, your email address may have been accessed by an unauthorized party. Epsilon took immediate action to close the vulnerability and notified law enforcement.
While no personally identifiable information, such as names and credit card information, was involved, we felt it was important to let you know that your email may have been compromised.
An official list has not been released for security reasons, but here are some of the major companies that are suspected of being hacked.
- Best Buy*
- Brookstone
- Capital One
- Citi
- Disney Destinations
- JPMorgan Chase
- Marriott Rewards
- New York & Company
- Ritz-Carlton Rewards
- Target*
- The College Board
- Walgreens
