Sponsored: Big Layaway Giveaway!

This is a sponsored post, I am a Kmart Layaway blogger, though all opinions are my own.

It’s only September but the stores are already preparing for the holidays. I actually saw Christmas trees on display last week in two different stores. A big thing during the holiday season is the use of layaway. I never actually used layaway before but I can understand the appeal.
  1. There’s no interest like you get on credit cards, just a small flat fee.
  2. They hold onto the item until you pay, therefore no need to hide something from the person you’re giving it to.
  3. Some stores will agree to lower the price if it goes on sale while you’re still paying it off.
This year, Kmart is offering a great promotion, Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway, for customers using their layaway department. Each week, one winner per store, will get their layaway balance paid off. That means that no matter what you have on layaway from a few shirts to a new entertainment center, Kmart will pay off the bill. Even cooler, every store will select a winner each week. That means your chance of winning is even better because it’s not a national giveaway.

The giveaway goes from now until November 17, 2012 and you will automatically be entered to win if you put something on layaway. Consider this a possible way to get your holiday gifts at a steep discount if you win. I did see something mentioning free layaway but all the details I have read state that the fee is $5 to open a layaway contract.

Something interesting I learned while reading the rules for this giveaway is that you can also make a layaway purchase online. Did you know that? I’m not sure if other stores offer a plan like that but it can make your holiday even easier. Now you can save money on interest rates and still shop online.

Sponsored: ShopYourWay

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of ShopYourWay Program for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
PersonalShopper.jpg

Are you a member of ShopYourWay?  If not, you really should consider joining.  It's the free reward program offered by Sears.  Just Request an Invite to ShopYourWay and you'll get an email to sign-up and start earning cash.  Just make sure you use your membership when you shop at Kmart and Sears.

Each time you shop, you'll earn points. Each dollar will earn you one point and one hundred points can be redeemed for a dollar.  It’s not the world’s greatest reward percentage but combine it with other reward programs, such as your travel credit card, and it will add to your overall savings.

I recently made a large (for me) purchase at Sears and I’m glad I had a ShopYourWay membership.  Now that I own my home and don't rent, I can't just call the landlord when something breaks.  So when I needed a new garbage disposal, I compared prices.  Sears had a great disposal for the same price as the hardware store but thanks to ShopYourWay, it was an even better deal. It also had the better warranty, seven years vs the competitor’s five years.

So you might have joined ShopYourWay ages ago but the program has now changed to include a more social aspect.  It’s really cool now because you can make recommendations and receive recommendations from personal shoppers, also known as your friends.  The best part is that if your friends aren’t already members, you can recruit them and earn points for their purchases too.
Here’s how the ShopYourWay Personal Shopper program makes your friends lives easier, and your wallet fatter:
• Invite friends easily through Facebook, Yahoo mail or Gmail
• Help them shop for items they need and love at great prices
• No affiliate link necessary, your clients can buy online or in-store, using their ShopYourWay Rewards card so they can earn points and get members-only offers.
• You earn commission when friends in your network make qualifying purchases at stores including: Sears, Kmart, and Lands End.
I really like that I can create a catalog for your friends to view.  I created a catalog to show you all how easy it is.  It's just a few of the items I've reviewed on Making Cents of It. You can also create a catalog of wish list items so your friends know what you want next time you're having a birthday or it's a holiday.

Another Great Deal of New Moon

I previously told you about a great deal at Target for New Moon and Twilight in Forks.  Here is another deal that might be even better.  I say might, because Kmart doesn't seem to have prices listed yet for either movie and when I called the store they couldn't find information.  Combine the coupons from Red Plum with Kmart's $10 off $20.

Since Kmart doesn't have prices listed, but most chain stores offer similar prices I am doing the math with Target's prices.

Target's prices: New Moon = $16.99 Twilight in Forks = $9.99  Total = $26.98

Using the $3 off Twilight in Forks and $5 off New Moon and Twilight in Forks coupons from Red Plum you will save $8.  Add the $10 off $20 on top of that.

Final Price = $8.98

Not a bad deal for two movies.  Please note that Blu-Ray should work with the coupons and will work with the Target gift card, but your final price will be higher.

$10 off $20 at Kmart

The good deals just keep coming for Kmart lately.  Here is a coupon for $10 off $20.  The coupon is for a promotion in Chicago but it states that it is valid at all Kmart store locations.

The coupon is until May 22, 2010 and is a PDF so you can print it more than once.  This also means it will be good during the double coupon days.  You should be able to pair it up with other coupons to get even better deals.

This deal was later resinded by Kmart.  There was a statement posted on their Facebook page
A coupon for $10 off a $20 purchase has had unauthorized circulation and we have had to stop accepting it at most stores. The coupons will still be honored in the intended stores in the New York, Baltimore and Chicago area. We regret any inconvenience this may cause our customers. Thank you for your continued patronage... and we do look forward to sharing other deals and offers with you in the future.

Kmart Double Coupon Days

Starting on April 4, 2010 for a limited time, Kmart will be doubling coupons up to $2.  I cannot find specific details about the doubling policy, however Kmart has released a list of participating locations.  When I find more details, I will post them for you all.

Keep an eye out because I will also be posting great printable coupons for you as I find them.  And remember, you can always look for coupons too at the three main sites listed on the right of this blog.
