Free Starbucks With Your Own Tumbler

This is a pre-scheduled post. Please check with your local store to see if this promotion is valid.

Many Starbucks locations will be celebrating Earth Day, April 22, 2013, by filling your tumbler for free with regular coffee or tea. This refers to any variety but only the drip beverages, not the espresso or specialties. So bring your own cup for some free coffee on Earth Day.

Earth Day Deals

Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22. Since the 1970's Earth Day has inspired awareness and appreciation for the environment. In some areas, the entire month of April or the week surrounding Earth Day are celebrated in schools and communities.

Below are all the Earth Day promotions I was able to verify. If you know of others, please leave a comment.

Paperback Swap - Not actually an Earth Day promotion, but Paperback Swap is a great way to save money on books and help the environment. You can trade books with other people. (Ongoing)

National Parks - Free entry this weekend to national parks across the country. (April 21-29, 2012)

Target - Free reusable shopping bag with any purchase. (April 22, 2012)

Disney Store - Free reusable shopping bag when you bring five plastic bags to recycle. (April 22, 2012)

Disney Movies - Disney continues their annual tradition of releasing a Disney nature film the weekend closest to Earth Day. If you Chimpanzee between now and April 26, 2012, Disneynature will contribute $0.20 per ticket to the Jane Goodall Institute for the Disneynature Tchimpounga Nature Reserve Project (minimum $100,000). They will also make a $1 donation for every purchase of a chimpanzee plush toys between now and May 13, 2012.

Origins - Bring in an empty cosmetic container and Origins will trade it for a full size moisturizer. (April 22, 2012)

Grocery Stores - Many local grocery stores will be giving away reusable bags. There are too many chains for me to list them all, but check your Sunday ad to see if you're store is running a promotion.

Earth Day is Coming Soon

Earth Day is April 22, 2012 and many stores will be offering specials for you throughout the month of April. Some offers have already begun to surface so I will begin to post them. Deals will be tagged with the label "Earth Day" to make them easy to look at.  I will be creating a master list post of all the deals which will publish the first day of Earth Week as a reminder. Enjoy!

Reminder of Earth Day/Week Promotions

Today is Earth Day and many stores will be offering special deals. Deals were tagged with the label "Earth Day" to make them easy to look at. This post is a master list of all the deals I found that are valid today.  If I missed any deals, please feel free to add them as a comment below.

Enjoy!

Starbucks - Free coffee or tea when you bring your own reusable mug.

National Parks - Free entry to over 100 national parks.

Lowes - Free tree seedling.

CVS - Free Green Tag which earns you money when you use your own bags at CVS.

The Disney Store - Bring five plastic bags into any Disney Store (not the outlet stores) and you'll get a free Mickey Mouse reusable bag.

Origins - Free full size bottle of cleanser when you trade in your old brand, even if it's empty.

Free Facial Cleanser at Origins for Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day, April 22, 2011, Origins will trade you a full-size bottle of their cleanser when you bring in your current skincare product.  You will get a choice between the Checks and Balances Frothy face wash or the Perfect World Antioxidant cleanser with White Tea.
Now swap harsh chemical ingredients for the puritty of Origins. Bring your current skincare (full or empty) to any Origins counter and we’ll trade it for a full-size of one of our gentle, high-performance cleansers.

This is the same promotion as last year but you will need the coupon from their website so make sure you remember to print it out.

Free Reusable Bag from The Disney Store for Earth Day

I had heard rumors regarding this promotion on Facebook a few weeks ago, but they finally posted an official announcement. Bring five old plastic bags to the Disney Store on Earth Day and you'll get a free reusable shopping bag just for recycling the plastic.  This promotion is only valid on Earth Day which is April 22, 2011.

In my opinion, this promotion is much better than last year's youth hat. Everyone can benefit from a reusable bag.

Free Green Tag at CVS for Earth Day

Repeating their deal from last year, CVS is offering a free green tag after Extra Care Bucks. It's a great time to pick one up if you don't already have one. They show the green tag on the handle of a reusable bag, but I keep mine on the keychain with my CVS card so that I can use any bag.
You can use any re-usable shopping bag, re-use a plastic bag from a previous purchase, or simply carry out your items. Anytime you decline a one-time use plastic bag, you will receive a Green Bag Tag credit.

This tag will earn you $1 every four visits to the store when you bring your bag.  If you shop at CVS, this is a great deal because that equals $0.25 for each time you shop, more than the $0.05 that most stores offer for using your own bags.

Even if you already own one, this is a great time to pick up an extra one. Your green tag count is connected to your extra care card so you won't have to start over with a different green tag. Leave one in your car in case you forget the other one at home. Or give it as a gift with a reusable bag to a friend. There are so many different reasons to have an extra tag.

Free Tree from Lowes on Earth Day

Lowes has announced their Earth Day 2011 giveaway. Just head over to your local store and you can pick up a free tree. If you have a nice place where you can plant a tree, go pick one up on April 23, 2011.

Reminder: Next Free Entry Dates for National Parks

Earlier this year, I posted a list of dates when our national parks would be offering free admission for visitors to enjoy nature. The next date is this month to celebrate Earth Day and National Park Week. From April 16-24, 2011, you can enter over 365 national parks for free.

Please note that this is for national parks and not state parks.  If you are not sure about your local area, check the list before you arrive.

Free Reusable Bag from Target on Earth Day

While Earth Day isn't until April 22, Target's website has announced that their giveaway will take place the Sunday before. On April 17, 2011 Target will be giving away one million free reusable bags with any purchase (one per person). These bags are great because Target also takes off $0.05 for each reusable bag you use in their store. Those nickels can really add up if you shop at Target often.

Free Starbucks Coffee on Earth Day

Starbucks wants to reward you for keeping paper cups out of landfills. Just bring a travel mug to any store (participating locations) on April 22, 2011 and they will fill it for free with coffee or tea. This Earth Day promotion is part of their continuing efforts to minimize waste. You can read more about their community service efforts on their site.

Earth Week is Coming Soon
